The 2012 Oscars' Hijab Friendly Gowns

February 27, 2012

So the 84th Annual Academy Awards was this pass Sunday. An Iranian film, A Separation, won for the Best Foreign Language Film. Which I think it was pretty cool not that I am Iranian or anything. I loved seeing the interesting gowns the actors wore that evening. Here are few my favorites picks.

"A Separation" (an Iranian movie)
Leila Hatami
I wish she wrapped her hijab better to cover her hair and avoid looking like a bride

Melissa McCarthy
I love Melissa McCarthy's dress, Marina Rinaldi, it can be hijabified with a scarf and arm sleeves to cover the forearms.

Anna Faris
I love sequins and Anna Faris's dress, designer Diane von Furstenberg. Because the dress is black any color hijab would look great.

Louise Roe
Hijabify this gown with arm sleeves, a scarf, and a detachable top. I am not into mermaid dresses as they don't seem very modest since its aim to show curves, but Louise Roe rocks this dress by Black Halo.

Shailene Woodley
I pick Shailene Woodley Valentino's gown because of its modesty I am not crazy about the style or the fabric of choice maybe it would have looked a lot better with multi-layers of chiffon material. Hijabify it with scarf.

Lily Collins
Lily Collins' dress, designer Monique Lhuillier, is a rock. I love how it flows. Hijabify it with a scarf and arm sleeves.
